Cougar
Pack Dog
So I decided to tackle this one by myself Was not lus to fork out the dough for it.
Had the manual helping me step by step
Bike was not very clean. Decided to clean it properly while I have it stripped :mwink:
Stripping the bike:
Went quickly. And then for the spring removal:
And then the oil that shouldn't be there ???
After removing the end plate and cleaning out some of the crap in there:
Was a bit of a mission getting the rod out the damper case.. The o-ring was stubborn to get past the circlip seat :
And all clean waiting to be stripped further:
And here is the outjie that I need to get to. Bottom left oil seal is leaking oil:
A cable tie to keep the lot together:
It's all done and worked like a charm. 8) Feels better than ever!
Shock fitted back:
Just imagine a really clean and polished bike and insert pictures here
Got all the seals from seal company in PTA West. Wanted to replace the rod guide case too, but it was not worn too bad and I think will be a mission to source either way. Will have to cross that bridge next time. :-\
DIY ftw :thumleft: :ricky:
Now that I think about it, I should have taken more pics of the assembly process, oil filling etc..
Well it was a mission, but it is done!
