Namibia: Condition of Road D707 ??

Hi there!

Has anyone been travelling on the D707 recently
[It is the scenic district road between Aus and Sesriem, the loop west of Helmeringhausen].

I heard it is quite "sandy" and the moment...!?!

I will be travelling from Luederitz to Sesriem shortly with some overseas mates and they are not that experienced on sand/gravel. The mileage for that day will be around 470km and if the road is too hectic, it might be too much on the D707...

Any comments on the present road condition will be highly appreciated!
