This morning whilst riding in light rain I narrowly missed a brick going from Stellenbosch to the N1. I turned around and parked my bike on the shoulder to go and remove it.
I was just too late before a few cars and a truck approached. The first car hit the brick with the rear wheel and had a blowout. I helped him change the wheel and he got going again.
Reason I am sharing is this: I realised how dangerous it was to stop next to the hazard. Brick flying, cars/truck swerving etc. I should have parked "upstream" of the hazard before attempting to warn motorists or remove the hazard.
Just want to share the learning.
Be safe out there fellow riders!!
