Howzit!
I'm very new to riding, and never mind adventure riding...
My riding experience can basically be summarised as 30 mins on an XR250 Tornado, and 5 mins on a CRF250 rally (not sure if a few additional hours on quad bikes will count for anything).
So, from my "vast" experience, the Tornado was way less intimidating than the CRF, perhaps because the XR was old and lazy.
From keeping an eye on Marketplace, it looks like I'll be able to (with patience) pick up a decently looked-after Tornado for under R30,000 which is the budget I'm planning to spend on the bike alone.
The reason for this post is, I am 1.94 tall. So want to check with taller riders, how does the XR250 suit you when you go past the 30-minute mark of riding?
I've sat on a Sertao, which just felt too intimidating for now, hence I'm rather looking for a 250 to start with and upgrade later to something bigger if the bug bites.
Feedback appreciated!
