Offroad fairings/screens ala Dakar

I often see pics posted here of bikes with the Dakar type fairings/screens added , the ones that accommodate all the extra goodies they require for the races , ie maps scrollers etc.

Same thought goes through my head every time...those should be good for road use , ie blocking wind.

Yes , one does not see many local bikes with that type of fairing ?

Are they just not locally available / too expensive / not for for the job / am I just nuts ?
