and so it came to pass that the uj bearings on my drive shaft failed (2004 1150adv 113000km).
if you feel a slight rumble or grinding sensation in your footpegs and there is no play in your rear wheel then remove your brake caliper and turn the wheel by hand. you will feel the resitance of the knackered bearing. if you leave it too long the entire shaft might break loose and cause untold carnage. luckily mine didn't.

anybody got a spare shaft lying around.
