Opinions? Good Starter bike for wife

Good Day

What are your pics for a good starter bike, for mostly tar and gravel roads? Was looking at a crf230 but they seem to be like hens teeth. we both like the look of the new suzuki SX250 but not sure if a new bike is a good option to buy for her to learn on.

Any thoughts? or offerings?
