Hermit rode with us to Mthata, but he had another week to ride around in the area so he greeted us after breakfast and went solo from there.

Thanks guys, I had one of the best rides from start to finish, mud and all.
(Sorry H, bit of a hijack here)
After you guys left, I rode the Lower Pitseng road from Mount Fletcher and crossed the Naude's Nek Pass to Rhodes. Waking up in Rhodes the next morning, it was raining again, so slipping and sliding to get back on tar ! Hell !! From there to Port St Johns, back up to Kokstad, then down to Port Edward ( mostly dry dirt roads) Then the Africa Bike Week in Margate and the Africa Twin Nationals at Rocky Bay. And so ended a wonderfull 10 days in the saddle. (End of Hijack)
