Peak or no peak

i recently visited one of the motorcycle dealers to fetch a bike  for a friend. while i was waiting i asked one of the saleguys which helmets he would recommend for on/offroad riding ,he said rather go for a fullface with no peak than a dualsport with a peak because the peak really lets your head bob around at high speeds,
now i would like to know does the peak really bother that much? as i really like the look of a dual sport helmet...
