So...The Pig Lite arrived yesterday (Thanks Jacque ...very happy with my purchase :thumleft
Now those who know me will tell you that I am anal about my bikes being in pristine condition. I actually spend more time washing them than I do riding them. I enjoy it,... it's therapeutic. As my big girl is always spotless and oh so boringly reliable, I needed something to occupy my free time with, so along comes Pig Lite. A 1995 Honda NX650 Dominator. She's in reasonable
condition, but her previous life, I think, was spent at the coast so she is in need of some serious cosmetic attention. Some surface rust issues and a lot of powder coating required.....eish ....that purple frame has got to go :xxbah:
I've been looking for a project for a while , and this one suits me perfectly.
So stay tuned for over the next few months I will be stripping her completely and rebuilding a pristine specimen of this legendary bike.
The progress so far .....
She's had a intense wash .....well what did you expect
Top box removed .....If anyone wants it , feel free to come and collect. Its yours for nothing.
Front disc protective guard removed ....It was dammm ugly. I don't know what possessed Honda to stick something like this on.
Oil cooler kit purchased ...and may I add , what a nice bit of kit this is.
Engine oil drained. I would like to flush the motor before I replace the oil filter and oil. Any advise would be welcome.
Plastic chain guard removed and cleaned up , then sprayed black ....Looks like new again.
Pics to follow shortly .
This is what I'm aiming at .....really like these colours.
