I saw in an advert on the net for a BMW throttle Modulator.  The guys who installed these on their bikes, are ranting and raving about the effects.  So I had to try it out.

Costs about 40euros.  5 min installation.  And voila, noticably smoother accelaration, no pinging anymore and 5% more fuel efficient.  I don't have the link on my work computer but I will post some comments taken off the website tonite.

The Verdict.
It cost me R950 in total to get this unit and install it.  Installation was the easy part.
I have a very sharper throttle response, especially at low revs.  Not so noticeable at top speed, but it's there all right.
5% better fuel consumption, will be confirmed on full tank, but initial test indicates more or less 5%
I have also done BMC air filter mod, and removed CAT recently, before I installed this modulater.
I rode through traffic this morning.  Accelaration is faster, and smoother across the whole range.

I will spend this money again, any day.

Here are couple of pics of the unit and where its installed on my bike.

Photo 2:  I had to remove side fairing and panel to get to the airbox.
