Planning a trip - Moz and Zim

I'm planning a trip in April with 4x4s and bikes to Moz and Zim.  Idea is to cross into Zim (4x4s) via the Pafuri gate in The Kruger - drive to the Vilankulo area - spend about 6 days in the area between Vilankulo, Gorongosa and Chinde north of Beira. 

Then to cross into Zim via Mutare in order to explore the eastern highlands of Zim for another 6-7 days.

Any info regarding places to see, avoid, stay at etc will be appreciated.  Travelling tips too...
