Not being mechanically inclined, I don’t really know to what extent a pre-filter adds value. However, I needed to develop my CAD skills and get my printer calibrated so I designed a pre-filter housing for the XR650L to fit in place of the snorkel.
It’s not at all complete, I’m still deciding whether it should bolt on or whether friction will hold it in place so I’ll fit my prototype this weekend, go for a ride and see if it stays in place.
