QSAT (Quick Sunday Afternoon Trip)

I really wanted to join the Dogs at Makekeng this past weekend but could not go due to other commitments.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to show a quad rider buddy of mine one of my favourite dirt roads in the vicinity. My son also hopped onto the back of my XT and off we went.
There was hardly any dust thanks to the recent rains that we had and it turned out to be a very pleasant ride.

It is the Rietpol road that runs between the farms from Polokwane until it joins the N1 towards Makhado again.
Very quiet with hardly any vehicles or people to be seen.

I did the same route again on Saturday because SWAMBO wanted to go for a long training ride on her mountain bike and she asked me to tag along to keep an eye on her. She is the small "blip" far down the road in the background.

We had some good rainfall during the past week and the road had pools of water everywhere. The grass is growing nicely now.

I came across a telephone pole that had snapped off on the side of the road. I wonder if the rain had something to do with it?
Serious clouds were gathering again and at one stage I thought the rain would get to us before we would reach the house but we made it back home in time.
