Recently bought a BMW R100RT - yea I know, not a DS bike, but all (old) BM's can ride dirt roads! 
Interesting fact - According to the chassis number, the bike was built in June 1982. It was only sold, and the pre-delivery service done, on 22 January 1985. Any idea why there would be such a long time between build and selling date? The pre-delivery service was also done by Midletec Honda in Jeppe Street, Middelburg. Did they sell BM's then?
First owner was N van Zijl of Skukuza, and the second PW Cronje of Potchefstroom - any relations here?
