I have a Garmin V mounted via a RAM bracket which has really been a great product so far, but riding in the Cederberg on Sunday I looked down to see that my GPS was missing. Looking further down, luckily, it was still hanging via it s cable.
On closer inspection the nuts that hold the product specific mount to the universal base plate had pulled through the plastic. This section is no thicker than the rest, in fact it could be thinner due to the recessing of the nut heads, yet it carries all the stress.
This is just a heads up to those with the same fitting to keep an eye out for wear and tear.
Does anyone know where in Cape Town I can get a new RAM mount for a Garmin V ?
