My OEM grips are shot, and I am not paying R800 per side to get new handgrips. I ordered two of these C32 72 1 458 396 rhs grips from the older RT and Dakars from BMW. Cost around R108-00 each. I like them more than those skinny units on the 1200's you can still replace with those skinny units it's the old RT's without heated grips or GS650's. We all know when the grips go BMW want to replace the entire grip and wires with heated grips for R1000 whatever.
If you want the same smooth grip it's also a BMW part for a R100 or non heated grip GS650
Go slow, and I mean go slow, cut only small pieces and try not to cut to deep start at the inside of the grip.
Take it slow, it will come loose, it's not glued all the way, my grips was old and it became sticky.
Did I say take it slow, and cut small pieces.
After removing the biggest pieces, I took care and time to remove the last bits.
a Bit off soap water and voilà!!! The grips are on. Liberal amounts of hairspray also do the trick. With soap water you just have to leave the grips to dry out for a few hours. :thumleft:
