Yesterday I had the idea to make my self saddle bags using old army back packs. This is what I came up with, still need to test it, but they are a solid as a rock. Dont think they are going anywhere.

I attached these traps to my plastics. You put the little buckle through the loop thing, and then tighten, keeping it from moving side ways or up.

Thats the buckle that you put through the loop/ring. There are two per bag, 1 each side.

I would guess these to be about 20L each.

Total cost:
Saddle bags: R400 (army surplus store, Prt)
Velcro - R20

These bags are K%k strong, not waterproof, but thats not an issue. I will just put dry bags in side or something

I could add them to pannier racks if I want to. That would be a much cleaner and "saver" option.
