Satphone call rates

I got a fright of my life this morning. A friend got a Sat-phone on his boat and called me to brag with his new toy. I called him back from my cellphone just to check what the rates are. In 3 min and 19 seconds it ate up R264-00 rand call-time off my cellphone  :eek7: :eek7: :eek7:
Anybody got actual experience with this ?
