Scaling the Makhonjwa Mountains

The Sadist aka @Just Blip It! invited us for an easy Saturday ride with route description Numbi - Kruger Fence -Shiyalongubo Dam. Gullible as always, I hopped on my R on Saturday morning and head towards White River with Janus and Gustav to meet up with Mark at a coffee stop.

Huge accident when we passed through Rocky’s Drift on our way to White River with a Diesel tanker spilling a river of fuel onto the R40. Road closure for most of the day and we had force our way past to get to White River.

From White River we head to Numbi area and then onto the Kruger National Park Fence line

From Matsulu we head towards Louisville from where we head into the mountains around Shiyalongubo Dam

As we reach the dam, Mark’s true colours appear and he heads straight up into the mountains.
The gradient is very steep and traction on green grass is dicey
