I know the feeling - I am vertically challenged myself!  ::)

But thanks to Wilbers suspension, you don't have to be afraid of the F800GS Adventure anymore......we can lower that too!
We have done countless F650/F700 and F800GS lowered versions - in fact BMW SA owe me a marketing medal as we are putting people on to all makes of GS bikes that couldn't fit before!

Then came the facelift F800GS with ESA, again no preblemo - we have been lowering ESA bikes for eons with the R1200GS/GSA, still retaining the original BMW ESA functionality!

Then came the even TALLER F800GS Adventure, a very lekker bike that has taken that market by storm, one problem.....is it is frigging tall!

Again no sweat for the men in white coats, they made for this as well!

Whilst some Dealers and Workshops are offering quick, cheap and nasty “fixes” to try and make bikes like the GS range lower. They are exactly that, cheap and nasty!

One of the popular quick fixes on the F800GS and F650GS is to add a shortened spring to the existing shock absorber, this method spells one thing – disaster. The shock struts most important workings are in the first third of its travel, so by adding a short spring all you are doing is taking away the first (and most effective) third of the shocks working capability! Not a solution at all.

The WILBERS solution is way more effective, we replace the rear shock with a far better quality component that is right up there in terms of performance with makes such as Ohlins etc. The biggest advantage is that the shock is manufactured in Germany according to the specs that you supply, i.e. your height, weight and ride style! This means you get a tailor-made shock as opposed to ‘one size fits all!” Part of the peace of mind WILBERS offers is the 5 (five) year warranty it comes with – the highest in the industry!

The shock is married to the BMW ESA system and the two work in harmony - so you have exactly the same ESA functions using the same button, so it also doesn't mess with your warranty!
The great thing with the facelift WESA system is that the replacement shock also retains the original BMW Hydraulic Preload adjuster, so you can adjust your bike easily for different load conditions.

Then it is a simple process of re-assembling the front forks with shorter, but better quality progressive fork springs from WILBERS. These come with a set of reduction bushes, which alter the travel of the front forks to the correct matching amount. We then top off the process with the correct weight WILBERS Fully Synthetic racing fork oil and the correct all important ‘Air Gap.’

Our engineers also shorten the side and main stands of your bike to allow the bike to sit at the proper angles when it is static. The stands are also powder coated to get them back to their factory fit look.

Your precious motorcycle is now re-assembled with the new shock and altered forks and the combination of these two components ensures that your rake and trail is now correct and the right amount of static and dynamic sag is achieved.

This ensures that you now have a motorcycle that has much improved handling on and off road as well as less dive under braking and stiction on the back shock under dirt riding conditions. The “flighty” front end that the F800GS is renowned for has been improved and the fast speed compression on the front will be better which will help over corrugations and help lessen the incidence of those bent front rims!

A lot of people are concerned over the lack of ground clearance once the suspension has been lowered. Do not be overly concerned as the better performance of the total suspension package ensures that the bike does not bottom out so much because the improved Wilbers shock suffers less duress under compression. Also remember that the new shock has been built to accommodate yours, your pillions and your luggage weight as opposed to the generic 85Kgs that the original OEM shock was built for.

The process is easy to order and your shock can be here in three weeks from Germany – it is that easy to get your steed handling the way it should and more importantly allow you to maneuver it easier than you are at present!
