Bought a Scott's steering Damper from a forum dealer but the supplied mounting kit wont fit with the Safari tank.
The damper's aluminium housing bolts directly onto the triple clamp (through the holes covered with the black rubber grommets) and the frame mount containing the "pin" is mounted on the frame via the grommet covered holes in front of the main fuel tank bolt (above the radiator coolant tank). The problem is that the safari tank sits so far forward that the loop, through witch the tankbolt fits, covers half of the mounting holes and leaves insufficient space for the bracket.
Cannot file or grind the tank away as it is actually part of the tank and the walls are extremely thin.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Anybody used the original Scott's kit with a Safari Tank? I'd hate to buy it as well only to find it doesn't fit either.
