From an article dated 30-Jul-2001: "Piet (Piet Skiet) Davids began his reign of terror in the Piketberg area two decades ago. He was shot, captured and jailed while on a robbery spree. But following his release from jail, David continued his criminal activities.
He allegedly hid in the mountains surrounding Piketberg and his knowledge of the area apparently helped him to evade the police."
