Hi all,
New user, recently bought a KLE and its come time to service it. I've got the service manual and it recommends 10w40 API SE/SF/SG/SH/SJ etc. They do however say that you will need to adjust the spec depending on where you live (colder or hotter etc) so Im thinking a 20w50 is probably more suited to our climate?
One or two people I've spoken to suggest I just use Castrol GTX which I have heard of people using but would prefer to use a more bike orientated oil.
What are you using? Mineral or semi-synth?
I would guess a mineral oil should be fine as it is an old'ish motor, something like Motul's 3000 20w50 Mineral 4T oil? Motor sounds a little tappety when warm (no issues on start etc) so wondering if a better oil will quieten it down a little.
