After reading this thread (https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=36767.0) about ghost towns I'm keen to go and sleep over at Diepgezet (26° 0'11.45"S 31° 4'20.42"E).

I thought of a 3 day ride, Diepgezet followed by Sabie or thereabouts and then Loskop dam the final night.

But, this is a family ride so swambo will join on her NC700, and mini-me on his CBR250R. Thus the question is... is this place reachable with a road bike? The odd piece of gravel is probably not that bad, but don't want to do any serious off-roading with those two bikes in tow.

So, two questions: Anybody know if the road leading there is decent enough? And, should I contact someone for permission before sleeping over? Or is it okay to simply stop there, pitch a tent and leave again the next morning?

Thinking of going from 26...29 Dec.
