I bought myself the Kappa soft panniers (saddlebags I suppose) today as I am heading to Cederberg this weekend. I hung them over the bike (KLR 650 2008+) and the bike plastics keep them away from the zorst and outof the rear wheel area.
The problem is they are resting on the plastics now and I'm concered that this will damage the plastics badly. I've put those non-slip car-boot mats in between the bags and the plastic for basic abration protection, I'm concerned about the plastics breaking. Should I make supporting brackets/racks or will I the bike be fine?
