Hi all
My stepson’s scooter is up for sale.
2009 Kymco Super 8 125 CC – R6500
My stepson inherited his grandfathers scooter when he became 16 and used it the next two years or so. I also have a Yamaha YBR125G at home and at around 18 he decided that the YBR is much cooler to ride than the scooter and started alternating between that and his car.
As such the scooter has only been used every now and again during the past 1½ years (mostly by me to keep it going). :
Scooter is in fair/decent condition with some scratches and marks, but nothing too major. Bonus of these scooters is that they have 14inch wheels. The little bit bigger size wheels creates better stability at speed.
Mechanically sound. Last oil change about 2000km ago by me. New tyres and drive belt fitted 1700km ago (invoice available) and new battery bought and fitted today. Current mileage: 15 630km
Honesty section:
The dim/bright light switch was giving problems a few years ago and didn’t work on dims. After an initial trip to a dealer (which rewired the switch) the problem occurred again. His father fixed it somehow, but the switch is now fixed in place in the dim position and you cannot use the brights. Would probably require a new switch if you want it fixed, but never bothered us much.
We are in Durbanville, Western Cape if you want to come take a look. I think this is good scooter at a fair price for someone that wants transport for cheap.
Price not negotiable too much as I am not selling this for my pocket, the money is all his. His grandfather is allowing him to sell the scooter as he is saving to buy a bigger bike. Something like a Honda 250 Tornado. So please don't try to knock the poor guy down too much- it will just mean I will have to up my share of the kitty :-\
You can reach me on Oh eight two 514 0051.
