After stalling in water, and seeing the suggestions of adding a snorkel I thought it was time to use some of the old vacuum cleaner hose I had in the garage. I also had some time lying around in the garage, whenever I'm in there I seem to use a lot of it. But, unlike the other suggestions I did not want my snorkel facing upwards, for fear of something falling in there. After removing the right hand side panel next to the tank I noticed an unused mounting bracket on the underside of the tank (photo1). I seem to recall reading somewhere that is wat used overseas on some models to hold something related to CO2 emission reduction, or something. Anyway, this turned out to be the ideal place to cable-tie the snorkel hose to (photo2) and keep it facing backwards.
That's really all I wanted, just to stop the wheel from splashing water into the air inlet, I was not too concerned with lifting the air inlet very high in order to increase my wade depth. I'm not planning on going that deep water. Well, not on purpose at least.
