Had some time to kill last night before my whiskey session and attempted this-

I have read up quite a bit about this mod and the general feeling is that it is quite succesfull. So, seat off, tank off, carb off. Removed slide and drilled the two vent holes to 4mm. Fitted 0.5mm brass washer under needle and filed mixture screw tab away. Set mixture screw at 2,5 turns for starters. I kept the standard jets for now and will probably replace them when I replace the muffler.
Re-assembled the hole lot and took a test ride. All I can say is WOW! While there is no wild front wheel lifting in second kind of power, there definately is a huge improvement in bottom and midrange. The flat spot feel is gone and the bike feels a lot smoother and pulls harder. Normally I run a bit of choke in the mornings up to the first set off traffic lights just to get over the flat spot, this morning I just started it with the choke, let it idle for a minute, put the choke back and rode of - no jerking or hesitation.
Next step is to replace the airfilter with a Uni or Twin air (why are these so hard to get by the way) and later change the muffler.
