So if the cellphone beeps 6.30am on sunday morning either one of my drivers has got trouble with a truck or a friend is planning a ride, the second one being the nice one to answer. So engelsman thought coffee in s/town would be a good idea, exellent as we dont sleep late in general we had all the kids sleeping out and i got my better half to join as we dont often get the chance to do that. By 7 engelsman was here and we were ready exept mrs xt was still doing one or two women things, so by 10 past we hit the road. Out through firgrove and towards baden powell drive, passing the water treatment plant is one of those places that inspire you to drive a bit faster as the smells on a emty stomake is quite harch. Trailing next to the beautifull white beach untill you get to muizenberg with the fresh morning sea air is always a nice way to wake up and quickly making you forget about the water treatment plant.

Going through muizenberg nice and early to see all the flea market vendors setting up shop for the days trade and then up Boyes drive to get a view of this lot from the top. We stopped for a smoke break admiring the view. Down the hill through kalkbay and we experienced a lot of our fellow 2 wheelers, but the pedal type, some insisting on driving side by side and those will then shout and swear and passing cars for driving to close to them, flippin peanuts. Arriving at the harbour in s/town we found a spot for coffee and a light breakfast hanging around and admiring the serenity of the calm seas with the the boats in the backround. Engelsman again in top form also pointed at the huge cement whale lying on the embankment and in words of wisdom revealed thats why its called a "walvis", and whe always wondered why it was called that . We left and drove out of the navy town towards scarborough passing a little informal settlement down the other side with more dstv dishes then ive ever seen per average street, we should have taken a pic. Now with better half on board we were taking lots of pics and even getting carried away with plants etc . As always very beautifull to ride through misty cliffs and kommetjie and back to fishhoek to sort of return on same road.

Ja-nne, die Kaap bly maar mooi

That road is actually quite nice to ride, as long as you don't do it in rush hour. Lots of sweeping curves and always the ocean by your side :thumleft:
