Dagse aan die honne
After my December holiday trip of about 4300km (report is on the way) I parked the bike in the garage for two days and now it wont start. Any help will be appreciated.
Symptoms:
The engine turns over when starting it, but the sound is different. Its a flatter, more clanking sound than usual. I also hear a slushing sound after I let go of the starter button.
I can hear the fuel pump switching as soon as the ignition is switched on.
I replaced the oil, filter, waterpump gears + seal kit before the trip. Throughout the trip, the bike never gave any issues.
Possibilities:
Could it be the timing chain tensioner or the timing chain that broke?
I rode it into the garage and it was still normal.
I feel it should be something electrical. On the last day home, I rode through a little rain, but the bike started up a couple of times after that when I stopped for fuel and at home.
Its not the sidestand switch as I won't start in neutral either.
My plan:
Check fuses. Read up on the forum.
Chat to my dad to have a "dinkskrum".
I am reluctant to try and start it too much.
I would prefer to do any repair work myself, but I first have to figure out whats wrong. I will probably have to take it to Runner.
Any help will be appreciated
Dankie
