Spluttering

This morning on my way to site, i twist the grip to overtake an old toppie in his bakkie, and when i was next to him, the bike started spluttering, and i lost some acceleration, almost like hitting a governor or the rev limit..

i managed to over take the toppie, i geared down and open the throttle full, and the same thing happens...

Made it to my destination, did my work and when i returned to work i crank it in all gears to ty and see where it happens...and nothng...everything fine...

My question:

Is this dirty fuel??

Dirty air filter??

Fuel injection??

What else could it be, should i really be concerned and take it to the dealer???
