Steytlerville via Grootrivier (bakkie, crab, Q8)

We left from Linton Grange Engen at 9am this morning. We had a few options of places to go....

Kakkerlaksvlakte again? We had a awesome time there yesterday
Addo?
Elandsriver Road again?

Well we finally reached a consensus and decided to go to the top of Grootrivierpoort pass via Elandsriver road (again) and back....... this would change halfway......

We had a nice ride up to the tower and got very wet on the way there. We had some viz problems especially crab and we both decided that the best solution would be goggles in the future. I think I will put some goggles in my daypack.

From the tower we took the Steytlerville road down to Grootrivier. The view was spectacular. There was a small water crossing at the bottom where crab almost lost it.

The climb up the pass from the river was awesome!!!

When we got to the river we planned to go up the pass stop check the view and head back.... but we changed our minds! (whatâ??s the use of having a mind if you canâ??t change it?)

So we decided to hit Steytlerville for some lunch and a beer. The gravel highway to Steytlerville was fast, very fast.... the road also had some highspeed jumps. I hit a few at about 130km/h and got some mean air!

Q8 and crab filled up in Steytlerville and we headed for the Karoo Theatrical Hotel for a nice lunch and beer. The menu was simple Pie Gravy and chips and a salad â??somethingâ? for crab with some beers. The hotel is awesome and has a special of R400 per person on a Saturday including accommodation and a 3 course meal with some entertainment....cool. Thereâ??s a pool and some gravel not forgetting the 12 cats.

Q8 was in a hurry to get home so he hit it hard with the 950 and made a dash for PE while me and crab took a leisurely cruise checking out skilpaaie and doing some wilddog marketing!!!! (Kilroy please note that I want discount when I apply to be a vendor!!! I wanna sell my body..... per kg)

We met some other adventure riders on the road also from PE and told them about the forum etc. Heading towards PE we got some light drizzle but it wasnâ??t too bad.

Regarding your comment a while ago about getting hours off for changing nappies during the night ..... YOU MUST BE CHANGING TONS OF THEM!!!!!!!!
