Look, I hate it to spend money. Except on my bikes - daar is dit n bodemlose put.
So I bought the missus a Honda 230 and she’s over the moon with it. As a birthday present I hear of a local guy in Fish Hoek that does sticker kits or customised wrapping that will not cost you an arm or a leg.
We browse the internet and the missus decides on a free wallpaper motive and the guy recons it is fine, there will be no problem wrapping the bike.
Fault #1 - We only mentioned a quote and did not insist on one.
Received the plastics back (had to wait a couple of weeks, but not a problem) and is quite impressed and the wife loves her “curtain bike”.
After the Canola run however, the prints began to rub of where her knees/body rubbed over the stickers and I send him a pic of it and he said he will sort it out as there should have been a protective laminating film covering the print. Two months later I get an invoice for R1600-odd which I paid immediately, but told him I’m not happy as it is way more expensive than I thought and that I will need to redo all the wrapping and the pay extra for laminating it. (Which I am not going to do)
Moral of the story - CHECK the price and specifics of wrapping BEFORE you spend a smallhouse of money on a defective product.
The photos were taken after 1 ride. Needless to say it is much worse now, two months down the line.
