Stripped sump plug

I used a torque wrench to tighten the sump plug after every service

Imagine my surprise when the sump plug came out with small bits of the casing thread when I drained the oil

Any ideas on how to fix ? I believe the Helicoil route might not be a good solution, unless somebody has done that and got a good tight seal on the plug
