Went for the 1st longish ride on the Alpie yesterday. This bike was kicking the hell out of me on bad tar roads arounds Harties, nevermind gravel. It seems there is no way to set the preload or rebound damping on the shock. Just a screw for compression damping. I turned it all the way to soft and it helped a little but what I need is more rebound damping with slightly less preload as I weigh only 73 maybe 78 with full kit.
Am I missing something? Or am I spoiled by better suspension on the Triumph? Even my fugly and new shape KLRs had a rebound knob so what the hell was Honda thinking?
I see Ohlins does a nice shock for this bike but at $1000 there has to be a cheaper solution.
