Swakop River in Flood

[ROAD HOG]

We had another public holiday yesterday, so I decided to go see what the Swakop River is doing and here are the findings;

The railway bridge....

The river flowing towards the sea....

Oops...! Went to far....

Going towards Swakop River Bridge....

Standing on the Desert Explorers trip departure road, or rather what is left of it....

Running Home across the Lang Strand Dunes....

Some of the world's most beautiful dunes....

Arrived home all dirty, but very satisfied....

All washed and pretty....

Final approval obtained....

WOW - Thanks for sharing! Brings back memories from when we were there, although the river was a mere trickle in comparison!

Any idea about the Seeis River close to Windhoek- is that also in flood? We bought some horses from the Seeis stud & the owner told us the river only flows 3 weeks out of every year! The remainder of the time they use it as a lunge ring to exercise the horses!

Nice pics. Man, they bring back some great memories, I spent 1.5 years there fishing for the SANDF in the late 80's 
Glad to see not much has changed besides  lot more water
