My F650 sometimes idles at 1500, other times at 1800 or 2200rpm depending on its mood.....or shall i say the oxygen reading provided by the lamda sensor. Think bike is running a little lean because it is getting great consumption (28km/lt) and pulls very strong.
BMW charges a fortune for a sensor and, commensurate with my luck, Bosch currently only has a generic part available which i am not too keen on. Maybe i should try order from overseas.
I see, however, on Youtube dudes taking oxygen sensors off cars and cleaning them with carb cleaner and the like.
Has anybody managed to successfully clean an old lamda sensor (93000 km) in this way on a bike? Is it worth a try? Also not sure how one would perform a before and after test to determine if it worked without the aid of a 911 diagnostic tool.
