I've only seen and heard about the famous/infamous 500cc two strokes. Crazy stories about lifting the front wheel at the wrong time, when that was not the intent just because these beasts have that much power. Think that's why they've got such long swing arms..I saw the other day that a later model (1999) of the Honda had 50kW....that's unbelievable. https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_cr_500_1999.php
About the power a small car makes in a body that weights almost nothing. Has dogs out there had the privilege of owning these mighty beasts (Kawasaki KX500, Yamaha IT 490)?
Kawa: https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_kx_500_1987.php
Yami: https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_it_490_1983.php
Seems the Yami is significantly down on power compared to the honda and kawa. Sure it still goes like hell.
Though I might not own one I'd like to know what it's like riding these bikes and general pro's and con's, some crazy story. Seems they are pretty scarce. Is Honda still making them? 50kW stock standard...can these bikes be uncorcked even more? To think that a couple of years back the motoGP bikes were 500cc two strokes..
