Not sure what this is all about but found a plane and some restored busses next to the road:

That is a very interesting plane.  It looks like a Convair 880.  The Ciskei Airways bought 2 Convairs (actually they were succered into buying 2 clapped out old planes); a 880 & a 990.  They were made as competitors to Boeings but never performed as intended though the 990 was faster then a 770 but it was a smokey gas guzzler.

The interesting thing is that particular aircraft was used by the Rolling Stones as their personal aircraft during one of their US tours.  Elvis Presley also bought one & named it after his daughter Lisa Marie.

I found this link on Google from the Burger but it no longer connects.
So it was also used by Barbra Streisand.

I remember seeing a while ago an article about an airline called Ciskei International Airways, based in Africa. They supposedly never flew due to finacial issues or something like that. The two liners in their fleet were an ex-APSA Convair 990 Coronado

and a Convair 880 (which was in full "house of ill repute" configuration and supposedly used by the Rolling Stones at one point...).

What ever happened to these planes?
Ex Ciskei Airways Convair CV-990A #24 - N8357C (cn 24) is now stored at El Paso, Texas

The 880 remained at Bisho until bought by an East London resident, who had the aircraft transported to his house in East London. It was mounted in his garden, and is now used as a restaurant for wedding receptions, etc.

Google also gave me this link to a photo on Google Earth

Aircraft Strip Bar
Posted by James Turnbull, Friday, 23rd May 2008

Just outside Lisbon Airport we can see an old jet airliner. Nothing unusual about that, clearly - however you?d have to go a very long way to find another aircraft that has ever been converted into a strip bar, complete with DJ booth in the cockpit!

Wikipedia confirms the East London & Elvis Presley stories.
