As i found out Klein Pella is the largest Date Farm in the Southern Hemisphere on the Farm is lodging and Camp grounds and it is one of the starting points of the Namaqua 4x4 route
due to Covid they were only running the camp ground....
i chose a spot on the lush green grass with a beautiful view of the mountains.......camping was cheap R115 per night so i decided to stay two and check out the farm also the Orange river close by and just relax in the beautiful enviroment

on the rest day took a ride down to the Orange in my shorts and T and ended up doing a bit of a hectic two spoor to get to a private section of river ......there I took a swim......it was great and although cool....was a nice refreshing experience after the sweating outside temp.....
was a great place to have a bit of time out alone

After the rest day left Klein Pella wanted to go to Riemvasmaak just outside Kakamas

first stop was to see the actual town of Pella.....there wasnt much there besides a quaint little church at least i can tick it off my list of places to see

After checking out the town of Pella i made my way back to Pofadder and had some fresh pies that the cafe owner had just baked......it was awesome after the past two days of noodles, sardines and water and coffee i had been living on,,,, as Klein Pella has no shop.....fortunately as i said earlier i was kitted out self sufficiently with my own supply of basic food and water

In Kakamas i stopped at the Pienkpadstal as i have done numerous times over the years of travel.....and the same lady still owns the place......she was the one who many years ago suggested camping at Riemvasmaak hot spring.......and that was a great experience back then......anyway this time she mentioned that the locals were having issues with local government so it was best to avoid the area this time........however she suggested i check out a place called Khamkirri on the banks of the Orange........I was glad i followed her advice

The road to Khamkirri camp was in hectic condition with corrugations and sand but the camp site was worth the ride and the people very hospitable and friendly........

As i got there early i was able to set up camp ....arrange some refreshments and go for a first time canoe on the Orange organised with a cooler of beers and ice........life was good at Khamkirri
even managed a meat pack for a braai that evening........the people at the camp really treated me well and i really enjoyed my stay there

Harde werk die adventure riding besigheid!!! ;) ;) :thumleft: :drif: :lol8:

After Khamkirri decided to go north as I hadn't been to Askham Vanzylsrus or Hotazel since doing the old Desert runs..... so i thought i would go check out these towns.......I knew at some point i would have to make Pretoria to service my bike for it to remain in warranty......it was fast approaching 20000 km ..... Askham to me was a good turning point to Pretoria where i would book my bike in at my friends dealership........also where i had bought the bike initially .........have always had great service from Bavaria

From Kakamas headed to Upington....there was a guy selling hotdogs on the road so decided to support him fro breakfast.......my bikes battery fob was playing up and needed to be replaced so i popped in to BMW Uppington only to discover the bike dealership is no longer.......shows you how long ago i was in Upington

From Upington pushed on to Askham and this was now a lovely quiet tar road...........

Got to Askham around 3.30 and decided to look for a place to camp for the night.......found a nice little camp spot in "Kalahari Camelthorn caravanpark and guest house" in the little town......was able to get refreshments from the little trading store..........when i started my bike after stopping at the store ....a warning light came on and said i needed to get to the dealership.......the bike was performing fine .......so i called the dealership to book my bike in in two days time......they told me nothing to stress about
