Some feedback for those who are still unsure!

Guys this was a great trip and the Tiger did the trick

total distance their and Back was about 1800km, Fuel consumption their riding between 120km and 130km Ph was 4.7 Liters Per 100Km, I thought that was not bad at all. On the way back riding between 150 and 170 got about 6.8 Ltr Per 100km, also not to bad.

Ride comfort was great, the bike handled like a dream in all conditions a very well balanced bike. While riding the thick Sand it definatley handled better than the F800GS or maybe put it down to rider skills, but i am still pretty new to the dirt so i would like to think it was the bike :) Everywhere else handled just as well if not better than my com-padre on his GS.

Overall very happy with the bike.

Thanks for the share. There's been such a buzz about the 800XC for such a long time but not many real reports. Share some more.

I still cannot get the smile of my face and that is after nearly 4 000 km. Really nice biike.  I still need some bling but got my Montana GPS from Gsing yesterday.  Will only fit this weekend I suppose.

Man I just love this bike.. tempting.. you really rode on slicks there, that is basically a road tyre and it still did better than the 800GS you say..  :peepwall:

ooo Fuzzy you know on WD you cant say things like that about BMW's
Behave  :laughing4:

So, SmokenFly ... you're saying your buddy's riding skills are non-existent then?  :pot: . . . because he rides a 800GS, and yet, he still made it where you did  :pot:

Sure as hell doesn't help me decide what's what . . .
test rode the BM today, and will do the Tiger tomorrow or Thurs . . .
Maybe I should include some others in the demo lineup?
Any suggestion fellow dogs?!

You'll be sold after riding the Tiger....no need to include any other Bike.  :peepwall:  :mwink:  The power, the triple smoothness, no need to sort "levensgevaarlike" front forks and a decent seat not a plank with a razor in it  :pot: :pot:

I would test everything because you can.
Seriously why not and find the thing you want not what the flock wants  :thumleft:

;D I have nothing against the BMW at all, I am not brand loyal to any bike! When i went about deciding what bike to buy i test rode every Dually i could get my hands on and the Triumph just worked for me, Fits me like a glove!

My reason for comparing it to the GS is that is the target market the triumph is aimed at, My buddy actually has several years more experience than i do on the dirt and he himself was very impressed with the Tiger and its abilities against his GS.

But when buying only advise i can give you, is make sure you like the bike and you feel comfortable on it. Gaurantee you will enjoy the ride on the Tiger though.

Post your thoughts after the test ride  :)

Ya fellas are right!
Biking IS such a personal thing. You gotta find what fits you (like a glove)...

I'm sure I will be impressed.
Thanks okes! Good to hear the unbiased advice from ya fellas ... unlike some close [biking] friends that 'push' to their personal choice 'cos they think they "know" you ...  :pot:
Guess that's what breeds some fellowship here at the WD's ... just good biking friendships!
{Albeit from time to time with healthy (sometimes comical) rivalry}  :3some:
Nothing wrong with with some good bantering.

Triumph Head Office hasn't released the demo to the dealer today, so, hopefully,
it'll definitely be tomorrow ...

Have done so ~ test ridden EVERYTHING!!! More than once too!
And have only come away with one great impression - problem is;
it's the most expensive one, and not the most cost effective one either (only 'cos I prefer commuting by bike daily!!! Big Time!!! Even in the rain!!)  ... although, it is a choice that moves the soul!
Me thinks that's what adventure riding is about though, eh......?

Let's see what the Tiger does tomorrow then . . . it is the first time on a Tiger ... so, I will post my impressions (more than likely personal opinion rather).

Thanks fellas  :thumleft: :thumleft:

Hey, his words, not mine !!  to be fair. I am still impressed with the tyre choice for sand.
