Man I just love this bike.. tempting.. you really rode on slicks there, that is basically a road tyre and it still did better than the 800GS you say..  :peepwall:

ooo Fuzzy you know on WD you cant say things like that about BMW's
Behave  :laughing4:

Hey, his words, not mine !!  to be fair. I am still impressed with the tyre choice for sand.

Thanks for the RR. Bike looks Gr8. Love that photo of the bike "Sun Bathing" :thumleft: ;)

:imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

Today is the day? RR please! :thumleft:

JA WELL ... end of the day ~ no demo, no test ride, and not even a call from the sales manager.
Don't think I'd be buying without test riding, and much less so from a salesman/-manager that doesn't care to call back when we had an arrangement!  :xxbah:

Triumph fools in SA!  :xxbah:

Me thinks when I've calmed down, ... I'll take a look at the 'dark' side!

Who were you going through? I did my test rides and bought my bike from Traditional Truimph in Edenvale. Get hold of Nick Davidson there.

Were you going through Fourways Motorcycles?

They always got excuses! I went through Centurion Lifestyle, I know for a fact they have a black Tiger Demo, just waiting for you to ride

Reason I asked was because Ray, the Triumph salesman from Fourways, was involved in an accident last Saturday & has been in ICU ever since. Therefore if it was Fourways it is perfectly understandable why Ray has not gotten back to him!!

@ Gideon:
"See how nice Triumph Bikers is"

... you mean how nice you Wild Dogs are ...

@ Trumpet:

Yeah, I hear you Squire ... I spoke to Raymond the week before his accident; then heard about it on Saturday (heard that Ray broke his leg in 3 places, and even though he's in ICU, he's doing fine!) ... then consequently spoke- and dealt with the [supposed] sales manager, Fanie ...
I went past there on Tuesday, and arranged the test ride face to face (I find that's more compelling),
and am thus still waiting for this bloke to call me back, even if just to say that he can't get the ABS demo from head office . . . Say no more with regard to Triumph SA's "pilot" dealership . . . .
I'm not licking anyone's exhaust pipe to sell me a bike!

@ Geo:

Will do...

A little birdie told me somebody is test riding a Tiger today!

I like the look of the bike... Mmmm perhaps take one out for a spin... Making me think it may be worth it.

What are the costs for the two? IE how does the tiger costs compare to the f800 - they seem to be very similar so perhaps costs would be a deciding factor?

SP, out the box standard the Tiger is about 10G cheaper I think. Then it also does not have the front fork issue. PM gideon, he has put seriaaas kays on his since he got it. I have doen just over a 1000km and now haev to wait till I get home.

Just go test ride one for yourself.

I hear you friend, but when your next to the bikes, there not the same. similar but not the copy everyone is going on about.  And the price isn't the deciding factor for sure.

I'll never make someone buy any bike. Ill make them buy the bike they love. Ill give then a hard time in a joke about there choices because its fun. And will let them know that as well. I know how it feels to ride a bike you dont love.

But talking price The XC with ABS is R 109500 if I recall.

Yup Tiger XC 800 ABS is R 109,500.00 out the box, that's what I stumped up.

R-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-G-H-T ! ! ! I'm quite at a loss for words ... what is there to say after the testride this morning @ Traditional Triumph.
I sure as heck now know why they are Triumph dealer of the year for the umpteenth time . . .

Now about the Tiger 800 XC abs . . .
. . . lemme [major understatement about to follow] start by saying that it more than fulfils every expectation you could possibly have!
It has everything! Even Excel Rims (as previously mentioned in the tech thread)!!!

Gonna have to gather my thoughts on this one, I'm so excitedly drifting from one thought to another,
I'm gonna have start in the right place ... from one thing on this bike to another ... supercedes one's expectations!
FAN-BLOOMIN'-TASTIC!!!!  :deal:

{{apologies in advance if I repeat myself often!}} If you go ride one you might understand why.......
