I am trying to strip down my front forks on an '81 Honda.
I have drained the oil and had the springs out and back in again. But I can't get the allen key bolt loose at the bottom (item 24) :
The manual says:
I don't have an impact driver and fark the dealer.
Note that I have tried compressing the forks to make the springs put some pressure on the damping rod to stop it rotating. Didn't work.
Any bush mechanic tips?

The manual says:
NOTE
This screw has been secured with thread locking compound and is often very difficult to remove because the damper rod will turn inside the slider. It sometimes can be removed with an air impact driver. If you are unable to remove it, take the fork tubes to a dealer and have the screws removed.
