I would think many of us is in the same boat when it comes to checking tire pressure , we ride often enough and would feel if the tire is under inflated , but only if reraly low , in most cases we ride and check sort of once a month maybe less .
Watched a tyre video and the presenter explained tread wear reasons and in most cases it was due to under inflation . So just by looking at your tyre you can see if it is under inflated , How you ask? if you look at the tread and the front ( leading ) edge is lower the the the rear ( trailing) edge then 90% chance that your tyre is under inflated , looked at mine , and GUILTY!!
NEED TO CHEC AND INFLATE !
The reason the tyre wears off at an angle is because the weight of the bike is pushing down on the tyre , low pressure is deforming the carcass causing the bike to push the tire rather than roll on it .
A soft tyre will wear off casing a slanted step , A proper inflated tyre will wear evenly .
