Hi Guys,
I had a 84 XT600 Tenere for 10 or 12 years and after selling it a few years ago to a hand picked guy who is restoring it to show room floor condition I bought a XR650L.
Now, don't get me wrong, the XR is an awesome bike, but my commuting distance is going to increase substantially and I was thinking of returning to a Tenere. The 660 is a great looking machine but I think I need a few more horses so that brings me to my question: Is the XT1200z as good as the Tenere's in the past 30 years? I've heard of electronic problems, can't remember what they were though.
I'm not interested in buying a European built bike, I won't be seen dead on a GS, so a Tenere it has to be. In an ideal world I would like to keep the XR as well but I don't think budget will allow.
Is the XT1200Z a good buy?
