As per Thread Title.
Thinking of putting a Top Box on the old GS.
Will be used on longer trippies, for tentjie, slaapsak, stoeltjie, clothing, and (empty) Thermos.
Also probably my pompie .
Or is this an evil thing?
It IS ghastly looking to me, yes...but it does seem "easy to use", so function over form is my way of thinking.
Ek self lyk ook nou nie meer SO great nie, maar is tog nog fully functional...
I'll definitely install it just behind me, the GS is a dedicated single seater.
Not waaaaay back, on the edge of the bike's ass.

Pros I can think of
1) Space, for the space it takes, being a square thing. Easy to pack stuff, well, easier than a bag, anyway
2) Security...not really an issue for my intended use, but ja
3) Convenience.....obvious reasons
Cons
1) Looks crap
3) heavier than soft bag, so more top heavy
4) Overloads quickly
5) Doesn't fall well
