I followed his process to a T and it works; well there where a couple of things I did different.
I used the same TKC 80 with 4500 Km on it for the conversion.
Took off the wheel and removed the rim tape to find the nipples corroded, so I decided to buy a wire brush the goes into a drill (75 mm for R20 from Builders, well worth it)
use wirebrush in cordless drill until nipples and rim was shiny.
Used the Benzine to clean
Apply sealant
Let dry
NB: THIS STUFF TAKES A LONG TIME TO HARDEN. I left mine for 24 hours before refitting the wheel.
Drill valve hole
Hammer in value
Reinstall wheel in rim
NB: if you are not using a new tyre, plug any holes in the tyre. (it will now be tubeless) :
Head down to the local BP garage to reseat the tyre on the rim (I dont have a compressor)
NB: unscrew the valve core before reseating the tyre, it improves the flow rate of the air significantly.
install valve core
inflate to 3 bar
and you are done.
I still have to used this setup off-road before I am fully happy with it, but so far so good!
