There?s hope for DS bike?s with centre spokes that would prefer to run tubeless tyres, I saw this hint in the latest Popular Mechanics, this guy with a KTM 950 removed the tyres, had the centre of the rim rubberised with the same stuff they do bakkie rubberising with. He has done over 4000 kays, most of it on dirt, through Namibia and had no problems. He had no punctures but if he did he would be able to fix the puncture ala BMW style, gators etc.
I would also recommend that the spokes are cable tied together where they cross each other, using very small cable ties, so should a spoke break it should stay in position.
Also, after doing this rubberising, it would be advisable to re-balance the wheel once the tyre has been re-fitted.
