Noneking said:Dwerg said:Noneking said:It was soon going to be dark and we were far away from our lodging. What followed must count among the worst 90 minutes spent on a bike.......going through ******** towns like Tugela Ferry and riding at high speed after dark with a smoked visor....... I was glad to arrive at Battlefields lodge in one piece. :eek7: :eek7:
Rode through Tugela Ferry on two occasions. It's to date the only town in my travels where I've felt unwelcome. A real ********
My first proper ride in Rural KZN and I must say I've never felt so unwelcome in general. Everywhere we went people refused to greet us and kids threw stones at us. I was hit with a rock on the side of my helmet and it left me slightly dazed and confused for a couple of minutes. I'm so used to people being friendly where ever we ride in the Lowveld and Swaziland that this experience came as a bit of a surprise. In the deep rural areas it was a bit better though....
Maybe it had something to do with the general mood in the country at present......
